I’ve read a few of Maya Banks’ Contemporary/Erotic Romances and absolutely adore her Historical Romances, so it’s time to try her Romantic Suspense. I read The Darkest Hour, the first KGI book, in 2020, but decided to reread it and opted for the audiobook this time.

I usually read paranormal and historical romances, but I read good reviews of this series, so I figured I'd give it a try when I found this book in my used bookstore. The result? A solid 4 stars. This is my first Maya Banks and I really liked it. The book was not as I expected tho. Then, I wasn't sure what I was expected.
The plot was really good. Surprised me that it was unpredictable. Then again, I wasn't sure what I was predicting. The twists and turns were well written and I liked it.
I liked the characters as well. I think Miss Maya did a reallly good job setting them up without jeopardizing the story line. Now, she made me want to read the next book sooner. Thank go ...more
