Tempting The Beast is H.O.T.
Callon Lyons, the hero, is indeed "uber" Alpha (his genes were spliced with a lion, of course he's alpha,) and I was hooked from the beginning scene.
Merinus, the heroine, is an excellent match for Callon's overbearing ways, and finds ways of asserting her independence with a man who needs to be dominant. I'm very late to the Breeds party, but then, what else is new? Tempting the Beast was my first read by Lora Leigh, and I quite enjoyed it. There has been a lot of chat here on GR regarding Leigh's work - some of it less than favorable - but I had remembered hearing good things about her Breeds series some time ago. I'm glad I used this series to try her out, because I can't say I was disappointed.

Umm...not bad. Nothing spectacular much either. There's really no emotional connections (aside from the physical) between the two. Throw in a cheap storyline, some steamy scenes and some people call it good. However, I'm not one of them. I like Callan's alpha-tude though.
