A childhood bond matures ... beautifully. The suspense storyline enhanced the growing relationship. Friends from earlier stories in the series not only make appearances but advance the plot.
One of the strengths of this series is that one could remove the paranormal elements from the tale and still have a strong story line. Singh's Psy-Changelings are people with relationships first, and the paranormal nature of the characters only really factors in the suspense elements of the plot. Talin McKade ...more

Clay Bennett is a powerful DarkRiver sentinel, but he grew up in the slums with his human mother, never knowing his changeling father. As a young boy without the bonds of Pack, he tried to stifle his animal nature. He failed...and committed the most extreme act of violence, killing a man and losing his best friend, Talin, in the bloody aftermath. Everything good in him died the day he was told that she, too, was dead.

4.5 Stars~
I liked this book. Full of action, full of passion. Talin and Clay met each other when they were young. Clay acted like an older brother (or boy who loved her), and took care of her the best he could. Lots and lots of crap come between them, and they break apart. Years later, Clay thinks
Talin died. Talin appears again, asking for his help. Turns out she's his mate, and more stuff happens.
'Nuff said.
I've always enjoyed stories involving a couple with a past, and this was no exception. ...more
