I knew, going in, I was going to love Judd Lauren. By God, the man is sexy as hell. But Brenna was a variable, being kidnapped and tortured. Luckily, she did not disappoint in thawing the Man of Ice.

Brenna, a Snowdancer changeling, had been kidnapped and physically and psychically tortured by the previous Psy villain, Councilor Enrique. Rescued and in the process of healing with sessions with Sacha and Judd Lauren has made Brenna feel inadequate. Worse is her growing feelings toward the mysteri I knew, going in, I was going to love Judd Lauren. By God, the man is sexy as hell. But Brenna was a variable, being kidnapped and tortured. Luckily, she did not disappoint in thawing the Man of Ice.

Worse is her growing feelings toward the mysterious Psy, Judd, who may or may not have some type of affection or affinity with her. Judd Lauren is a rebel Arrow, one of the elite Psy Assassins, whose powers require the bindings of Silence. But when his emotions toward Brenna grow, his one control for sanity may kill him.

I loved them both, Brenna and Judd. They are a great couple, tortured in their own ways, but much more than our previous heroes and heroines. Judd's break from silence is different from the previous books, considering he is male and his powers are actually quite dangerous – killer, even. During one part, I felt that his transition was a little too out of character, but afterwards, it does not stray from his basic character buildup, so I was able to ignore it. The actual sensual scenes happen to be delayed because it takes longer to break an Arrow, but somehow, the anticipation just makes it better.

The plot continues with the undercurrent of a Psy-changeling war, but there seems to be bad apples on both side. For once, the other changeling groups are exposed (such as the non-sexy animals like Hyenas and Deer). The Psy council is just as bad as ever and I am honestly at the edge to see what they do next. It's like watching Star Wars and seeing what happens in Death Star.

I am still bothered by the whole good-evil thing, especially since I can never see the world in such black and whites, but I guess too much color would make this more than just a PNR.

Overall, a wonderful read. The best in the series, but mostly because Judd Lauren is the sexiest hero ever. I don't know how NS can write a better one, but we will see. ...more

3-30-17 ***Where was my head at the time that I wrote this review?? I have re-read this book many times and Judd has become one of my heros...I must have been off my rocker that day. Not warm up to the Iceman...puleezzzz...I would take him in a second!!! I heart Judd!

Although this was another solid entry into the Psy/Changling's world, it just never really took off for me. I never could see Judd and Brenna as a couple. Or maybe I just could never warm up to Judd as a romantic interest...not real ...more

Third in Singh's Psy-Changling series, CBI gets a 5 star rating from me too! I'm uber excited that each installment just gets better and better when often it's quite the opposite in series romance.

In CBI we get the story of Judd, a cold as ice member of the Psy race who dropped out of the psynet- a kind of psychic internet that connects all psy together- after he discovers his job as assassin is in fact much more murky than he had originally thought. (Think Jason Bourne!)

We are constantly, and I do mean constantly reminded of just how much an ice man he is. Never for a moment would Nalini let me forget that Judd was an assassin who could kill, who had ice running through his brains. I was about to start calling him a liar and claim that he was just all talk. But then, how can you argue with bleeding ears? So yeah, he convinced me. I was happy for Brenna's relationship with him.
