We have evil vampries, dumb humans, one hot and powerful vampire bounty huntress, a half-breed vampire hunter and put that all together and we got one damn amazing vampire series and one i say amazing I mean tripe that like time one hundred. Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost is one of the best series out there and if you have not read it yet then shame on you. You NEED to put this author on your must read list, you read this and you will not be sorry.

Cat Crawfield was born different, very different than other people, she was born a vampire, well, half vampire. Her mother was raped by a vampire and later had a child that was her, Cat. And now she has pale skin, her eyes glow like a vampires and she has the strength of a vampire, so she will not go down that easy. I adore this woman. She is a re-headed fiesty, tormented, bitchy woman who just wants to be accepted and loved by her mother like any daughter would. I feel for Cat. Cat goes out and hunts vampires because she believes that her mother will come to love her if she does this. Cat is everything! She is such a bad ass vampire hunter, with hilarious comments most of the time, when i picture her she is the most beautiful heroine out there, just wow. No wonder Bones is taken with her.

"I'm saying that I'm a moody, insecure, narrow-minded, jealous, borderline homicidal bitch, and I want you to promise me that you're okay with that, because it's who I am, and you're what I need."

Okay, let's get down to business why I am addicted to this series..BONES!!!!!! Oh, god I cannot get enough of this man! He is up there on my top 5 for sure! Bones is the reason you need to read this book. I would fall for him over and over again. Bones is a 200+ year old master vamp, and gives Cat a run for her money. Bones has this lovely english accent and we get these funny english phases that I just love! Maybe I'm a sucker for english men! haha. But the way he talks you can't help but love him! Bones is sweet and romantic and is strong and is not afraid to tell you off and he is not one of the evil vamps. Please Bones, I will let you drink from me any day of the week you want.

"Do you think I’m pretty?” I heard myself ask.
Something I couldn’t name flashed across his face.
“No. I don’t think you’re pretty. I think you’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen."

Cat and Bones = EPIC Jeaniene Frost has done quite a job in making us go crazy for this couple and I am recklessly in love with them! Bones makes Cat feel like she is the most beautiful woman in the world and that someone actually loves her. She has never felt love before and with Bones she gets to experience it. Cat is afraid at first and denies everything that has to with Bones and her getting with each other but as time goes on and they spend time with each other he has become someone in her heart that she utterly and deeply cares for.

This dialogue in this book is hilarious. It is romantic and action-packed. You will want to follow through to the very end. The ending has a torturous cliffhanger which (thank god, I have the next book handy) will make you crave for the next book, One Foot in the Grave. The romance in this book is hot, sexy and completely satisfying, also the most funny moments included. This is considered a urban fantasy book, but it has the appeal of a paranormal romance also, basically it is both. Again, if you haven't checked out Cat and Bones, you need to do so. This is a must-read that definitely needs to be checked out. 10+ STARS!

My expectations were very high with this series, since I had already read so many positive reviews from other readers. The first book definitely did not disaapoint. Although I will admit that the ending was very hard to handle, but since I had waited so long to read the series I was able to jump right in to the next book. An excellent love story with no happily-ever-after. The setting falls into the "not-all-vampires-are-evil" category, in America. I liked that the plot focused more on character growth than on external conflicts. The action alternated among scenes of battle, scenes of normal life, and moments of contemplative introspection. The lead characters do not fall in love at first sight, but as they come to know each other. They also, thank goodness, don't fall straight into bed (though the tension of the An excellent love story with no happily-ever-after. As each learns that his or her assumptions are faulty, they admit error and act accordingly.

The half-vampire heroine has the most complicated personality I've read about in a long time. She is a high school outsider, dysfunctional family and all. At the time of the action, she is twenty-two and still living at home. In some ways she is younger than her chronological age, worrying about her family's judgment of her actions. In other ways she is more mature than I, honed by six years as a vampire huntress. She has strong convictions and the spine to stick to them and act upon them until she learns her assumptions are wrong, then changes her actions. She dislikes being attracted to a member of a group she despises. She is spunky, sassing her captor when she awakens from losing a fight to find herself chained to a wall. She insists upon having a role in stopping evil, refusing to sit back and be coddled, using threats to act alone, unprotected, as leverage. She also has a quirky sense of humor that won me over, keeping the paranormal world secret by explaining to a new friend that her mother will not like her (vampire) new partner because he's "British".

The only reason I did not give this story a top rating is that author Jeaniene Frost didn't draw the hero in quite the same depth. We learned a lot of his history, but not so much about the internal landscape. He sure is yummy and hot hot hot. He's also witty, "Going home wearing that dress with blood all over it? Your mum might worry at seeing you that way." The author gives him sexy British slang without descending into corny stereotypes, which leads me to believe she is either very skilled or from England herself.

This book is a keeper I'm going to have to return to the public library and find room for in the budget. I've already reserved the sequel. ...more

Oh wow. This is one fantastic book. And it’s only the first in the series!!

The characters are great. Bones & Cat together are a dream made in heaven!!

This series I have added as one of my favorite and I haven’t even finished it.

Oh in the end though I hate cat for what she has done!! Won’t elaborate as I don’t want to give anything away. – BUT the way it ended will make the next book even better!!

I loved the book(and Bones, Of course.) but it had the WORST ENDING EVER...I would've cried like crazy if I didn't know better(Thanks to Amy's updates).

I've been DYING for a book with one POV, thank you so much Amy for introducing it to me!

4.5 stars...willdefinitely read all book in the series. Love Cat and of course Bones. Our hero definitely falls in love pretty quickly it was a little shocking to me while Cat cannot commit during most of the book. This was a refreshing relationship of learning to trust in vamp world. I enjoyed every minute of this read!
