I'm a little late jumping on this bandwagon but anyways...
Wow this was good mostly due in part to our delicious hero Bones. He is absolutely fantastic and oh so sexy. Wow this was good mostly due in part to our delicious hero Bones. He is absolutely fantastic and oh so sexy. His character alone will have me reading the rest of this series, reminding me on one level of Edward from Twilight in his unwavering love and protectiveness of Cat but of course different in that Bones is ALL MAN. HTTG is a fast paced, action packed, somewhat bloody yet utterly amusing read. With a spunky impulsive heroine, delicious, bad boy hero and a unique modern storyline involving the Vampire hunter theme.

Catherine Crawford (Cat) is just your average half Vampire college student who in her spare time trolls the local bar scene seeking out the undead and killing them. Her hope is that one day she will come across the vampire that raped her mother, -otherwise known as dad. One night while stalking her next target Cat gets more than she bargained for when she attempts to take down Bones, a two hundred year old, British speaking, Vampire, bounty hunter. Upon learning that she's half vampire Bones quickly turns the tables on the feisty and impetuous Cat, kidnapping her then forcing her into an unwilling partnership. Bones feels that together they'll be unstoppable since she's cunning and has the strength of a man. She's also pretty darn good with a dagger and deadly with a stake. And since other vampires can't sense her she'll also make the perfect bait. Cat in turn agrees to let him train her under the condition that he helps her find her dead beat dad.

Throughout Cat's training she's determined that as soon as she can she's going to take Bones out too. After all her mother always told her; the only good vampire is a dead vampire. As Cat gets to know Bones however she soon realizes that not all Vampires are created equal. And when the bodies start piling up he may very well be the only one she can trust even though its becoming apparent that Bones has some secrets of his own.

The sexual tension between Cat and Bones is awesome especially during their training sessions and I really appreciated the gradual build up within their relationship, slowly becoming friends as Cat lets down her prejudices. Bones is simply lovely, never wavering in his feelings towards her which at times proves difficult. He has been written as a bad boy so when he falls for Cat...*Sigh. The story races toward an exciting, blood splattered, cliff-hanger of an ending setting things up perfectly for One Foot in the Grave.

My only regret with HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE would be that it has been written in the first person, I would really liked to have heard what Bones was thinking occasionally. I also wanted more love scenes, there were just too many fade to black moments. All this however just signifies to me a great book, when I want more. Cheers ...more

We have evil vampries, dumb humans, one hot and powerful vampire bounty huntress, a half-breed vampire hunter and put that all together and we got one damn amazing vampire series and one i say amazing I mean tripe that like time one hundred. Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost is one of the best series out there and if you have not read it yet then shame on you. You NEED to put this author on your must read list, you read this and you will not be sorry.

Cat Crawfield was born different, very different than other people, she was born a vampire, well, half vampire. Her mother was raped by a vampire and later had a child that was her, Cat. And now she has pale skin, her eyes glow like a vampires and she has the strength of a vampire, so she will not go down that easy. I adore this woman. She is a re-headed fiesty, tormented, bitchy woman who just wants to be accepted and loved by her mother like any daughter would. I feel for Cat. Cat goes out and hunts vampires because she believes that her mother will come to love her if she does this. Cat is everything! She is such a bad ass vampire hunter, with hilarious comments most of the time, when i picture her she is the most beautiful heroine out there, just wow. No wonder Bones is taken with her.

"I'm saying that I'm a moody, insecure, narrow-minded, jealous, borderline homicidal bitch, and I want you to promise me that you're okay with that, because it's who I am, and you're what I need."

Okay, let's get down to business why I am addicted to this series..BONES!!!!!! Oh, god I cannot get enough of this man! He is up there on my top 5 for sure! Bones is the reason you need to read this book. I would fall for him over and over again. Bones is a 200+ year old master vamp, and gives Cat a run for her money. Bones has this lovely english accent and we get these funny english phases that I just love! Maybe I'm a sucker for english men! haha. But the way he talks you can't help but love him! Bones is sweet and romantic and is strong and is not afraid to tell you off and he is not one of the evil vamps. Please Bones, I will let you drink from me any day of the week you want.

"Do you think I’m pretty?” I heard myself ask.
Something I couldn’t name flashed across his face.
“No. I don’t think you’re pretty. I think you’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen."

Cat and Bones = EPIC Jeaniene Frost has done quite a job in making us go crazy for this couple and I am recklessly in love with them! Bones makes Cat feel like she is the most beautiful woman in the world and that someone actually loves her. She has never felt love before and with Bones she gets to experience it. Cat is afraid at first and denies everything that has to with Bones and her getting with each other but as time goes on and they spend time with each other he has become someone in her heart that she utterly and deeply cares for.

This dialogue in this book is hilarious. It is romantic and action-packed. You will want to follow through to the very end. The ending has a torturous cliffhanger which (thank god, I have the next book handy) will make you crave for the next book, One Foot in the Grave. The romance in this book is hot, sexy and completely satisfying, also the most funny moments included. This is considered a urban fantasy book, but it has the appeal of a paranormal romance also, basically it is both. Again, if you haven't checked out Cat and Bones, you need to do so. This is a must-read that definitely needs to be checked out. 10+ STARS!

My expectations were very high with this series, since I had already read so many positive reviews from other readers. The first book definitely did not disaapoint. Although I will admit that the ending was very hard to handle, but since I had waited so long to read the series I was able to jump right in to the next book. Time moves very quickly in the story where the turn of a page can take to weeks or months later. I found that hard take at some points during the story where I would have liked ...more

I loved the book(and Bones, Of course.) but it had the WORST ENDING EVER...I would've cried like crazy if I didn't know better(Thanks to Amy's updates).

I've been DYING for a book with one POV, thank you so much Amy for introducing it to me!

really enjoyed this book, and excited to have a new series. it had a bit of everything, romance, crime, humor. i like cat, she wasnt as hardcore as some of the other heroines, and bones i love. good spin on the paranormal, kinda paranormal / crime.
