This was one of the best books I have ever read and I have read alot of books. My emotions were all over the place. The first 400+ pages just killed me and I was so angry and hurt that I actually had to put the book down and walk away, several times. How could you not love this man, his capacity for compassion for mankind was something I couldn't wrap my head around, for all his suffering and pain...what can I say.

I gave this book 4 stars...yes....I know... WHY

Well, I have been a minion since before it was cool to be so...since about 1996. I loved her D-H and I loved Ash. From the onset, I have hated the Heiffer goddess and personally I would like to shave her head and then take all her white clothes and stain them with a variety of horrid foods!!!!

That said, Part One KILLED me!!! I wanted to mame and mutilate everyone who dared to touch my beloved Acheron. Not in a sexist, horn-dog way...but in a mommma ...more

I couldn’t believe how big this book was when I started it, but then again we had over 11,000 years to cover.

The first half of the book was brutal to read. I didn’t think it would be possible to hate Artemis any more than I did. But by her actions and her refusal to acknowledge of Archeron it was easy to do. Each time I thought it couldn’t get worse some other heinous act happens. With his past I was surprised that Archeron is as sane as he is.

I have to say that this is one of my favorite of the Dar Hunter series.
Through out the whole Dark Hunter series we get glimpes into Ash's life but nothing fortelling and soul bearing.
However, with this book there is a look into his past that brings a tear to your eye becuase you feel the emotion that has brought forth the man that is today. The death, abuse and the lonlieness is something that is going to be forever seared into Acheron's mind.

I loved this book... I didn't mind who he ended up with, and I was glad to learn more of his background with Artemis and also simi... I would read it again :) I do wish it would have went into some of the history of how he met the other dark-hunters... Great book though! ...more
