I'm not exactly sure why I've been avoiding to write a review for this book. Possibly because it feels so final that I've completed Adam Black's book. Anyway, this is one of those really good books that deserves a sparkling review, so here goes:

The book starts with our very favorite hero, Adam Black. Yes, the Fae who has meddled with countless human lives during the earlier books and is exceedingly arrogant under both Fae and human parameters. Anyway, he's an odd duck among the Fae since he actu I'm not exactly sure why I've been avoiding to write a review for this book. Possibly because it feels so final that I've completed Adam Black's book. Anyway, this is one of those really good books that deserves a sparkling review, so here goes:

The book starts with our very favorite hero, Adam Black. Yes, the Fae who has meddled with countless human lives during the earlier books and is exceedingly arrogant under both Fae and human parameters. Anyway, he's an odd duck among the Fae since he actually likes the humans (even while he thinks himself far superior than them) and speaks in support of them on multiple occasions. The Seelie Queen, Aoibheal, has had enough of it and punishes Adam to live as an invisible human. This is tragic for the great Adam Black since a, he's lost all his awesome godly powers, b, he's gotta eat and sleep, and c, he's got no one to show off to and pass his time. So, Adam Black wallows in self-pity (sorta) until he meets Gabrielle, a law-student who happens to suffer from an affliction - she can see the Fae, even through their glamor. And so, Gabielle happens to be the only person who can see and help Adam Black. Of course, Gabrielle isn't too keen about helping Adam. Eventually, they are forced to work together to save the Seelie Queen from the threat of Darroc (the 'Lord Master' *snicker* from the Fever series).

Adam Black is ridiculously hot. In fact, at times, I don't even care about the story because I love learning about him, talking about him, seeing how his mind works. Gabrielle is a pretty awesome heroine. In fact, I like her the best - compared to Gwen and Chloe. It's funny how she fights her attraction to the Fae.

I loved the chemistry between Adam and Gabrielle - and their love scenes were *fans self* plain whoa.

I don't have much else to say because it was so fun and I just loved it. I've already read the Fever series, it was kinda cool to read about how Darroc was cursed and Aoibheal pre-disappearance days. Overall, I highly recommend this book. I would advise everyone to read the Drustan and Dageus's book first - which is great for the story build-up. ...more

Adam and Gabby had a Wonderful and beautiful story! I was so happy for him that he found love and happiness. And I felt Gabby loved him just as much. They just simply loved each other. I can't say too much without giving away spoilers but this was written brilliantly for Adam in my opinion. The ending made me cry and the epiloge was just the best!!! The twists and turns, the realizations, the acts of love and sweetness, the thoughtful things he did, his battles with himself....Just perfect. No n ...more

I know so many people think this book is the best in the series, but Adam just didn't live up to that for me. I thought his actions towards Gabrielle were very calculated at the beginning and for a long time after wards. It really took a threat to her for him to own up to his feelings. I did like how Gabrielle stood up to him and how he really had to work to win her over. Plus her talk with the maid patrol was so funny!
