Okay, so the woman actually surprised me with this one. But it was a good surprise! After reading The Fever series we were introduced to the MacKeltar brothers, Drustan and Dageus. The Mmm Mmm good druid brothers, uncles to one Christian MacKeltar. I should mention that in my mind I'm seriously repeating that last name over and over again. Mac-Keltarrrrrrrr.

Okay, enough about my loving on that name, it's time for me to love on Drustan - er, I mean, to talk about him... and the er, heroine.

Okay, enough about my loving on that name, it's time for me to love on Drustan - er, I mean, to talk about him... and the er, heroine.

Gwen Cassidy, the heroine, is unhappy and feeling very lonely, so she decides to be spontaneous and books a flight with her travel agency to Scotland. I mean, it was cheap, and it was freaking Scotland. But there was a catch, it ended up being a senior's tour and so she ended up stuck on a bus with a bunch of older folk. While at one of the rest stops, she goes on a little hike, by herself, in a strange country but I digress. She walks for awhile and then she ends up dropping her backpack into this crevice and has to go down and get it and then she falls into the cave-thing that she's walking on and lands on top of... you guessed it; the slumbering - for over 500 years - Drustan Mackeltar.

See, MacKeltar, (I seriously can't stop using the name, I'm sorry. I don't even want to look back and count the amount of times I've used it so far!) was enchanted back in the 1500s, the period in which he lived, by a band of gypsies, and buried in a cave where he still slept when Gwen stumbled upon him. She unknowingly breaks the spell-thing that wakes him up and immediately the groping begins. But Gwen ain't that kind of girl, y'all. She's actually kind of spunky and strong-willed and highly intelligent. I also forgot to mention that she came to Scotland to find her "cherry picker". Yup, she's a virgin.

To be honest, this was really rather enjoyable, I must say. The heroine was the one who essentially had to save the big brawny scotsman and I LOVED that!

Overall, I'm surprised by this but definitely happy with the outcome. Also, I feel like KMM made up for the huge plot holes when it came to the Mackeltars. Fast paced, easy reading, hilarious and I liked it. Bam. ...more
