I have developed a sort of love/hate relationship with Linda Howard. I tend to love her earlier works and hate what she has written the past 5 years or so, Cry No More being the exception to that rule. Death Angel was excellent and was more in line with the writing that makes Linda Howard one of the most talented authors on the planet!

I really wasn't sure if I was going to like this book wich was crazy because I love Linda Howard. The problem I had was with Drea dieing, seeing her baby that died before he was born and talking with him. I absolutly hate anything paranormal but I had to give it a try. I'm glad I did because it's a really good book and the way Ms Howard wrote the scenes between Drea and her son were minimal and well done.

Here you have two characters that at first glance have nothing to redeem them. Howard gets you cheering for the one stealing from the evil one, then has the power of love making changes in the lives of each protagonist. The touch of supernatural force involved was very believable.
It is refreshing to read the work of such a skilled author. Unlike some of her work from earlier in this decade, I found there to be enough romance in this novel to offset the heavy dose of suspense elements.

The twist in the middle sort of killed it for me. I'm willing to pick it up later, to see if it still has an appeal, but as of right now, it's left unfinished.
