I didn't get into the Jack Reacher books "back when" but they have a huge fan base and I keep/kept meaning to get back to them. This is the book upon which the (first) Jack Reacher movie was based.
So anyway this is a thriller. The book opens with a sniper taking out several people in a shooting spree. So when he's arrested (and consequently almost killed) he asks that "they" send for Tom Cruise...err I mean Jack Reacher. Jack Reacher goes to Indiana when a killer from the Army has done it again. One of the best of the Reacher books.
Long book, but all was good - no slow parts.

rereading now that I've seen a trailer for he upcoming movie...our pallidin breaks of organized Russian crimes in an Indiana city...the usual fun read again
