After a long break from Furst, I decided to come back and am glad I did. Once again, Furst richly recreates life in Paris during the pre WWII years, deftly bringing out one aspect of how Europe was led to war. Only major criticism is that this book could've been about 100 pages longer, as the ending comes together a little too quickly, and there is so much more that could have learned about Carlo and Christa.
