Even better than his first novel! Tom Wood does a nice job of interweaving a rather complicated plot involving the CIA's plan to use Victor the Assassin as a means of causing a mini-war between international arms dealers. When those plans fall apart, Victor must flee for his life and unravel the mystery of who is using him as part of a larger plan. Highly recommended book from an excellent writer. Real gritty and a bit gory in parts but never feels over the top or contrived. Looking forward to V

Violent? Oh yeah, especially the last several chapters. Soon on to Book #3 of Victor the Assassin:
. I read the first Victor novel a couple of years ago and finally bought this book with a Christmas Gift card. Lucky for me my digital library has the next couple of Tom Wood thrillers.
Plenty of spy-craft and assassin trade-craft in this thriller. I recently read

This is a fast-paced good action novel and a nice follow up to a good debut. The action is stirring and the protagonist comes more to life in how he acts and interacts with allies and enemies alike. The conclusion is very graphic, yet realistic. It's no-holds-barred when you come face to face with your enemy.

I am confused about how to evaluate this book: at times, it almost went on my "shelf it" list. At other times, it was a solid four-star read. too much detail in the fight with the Israeli security teams. I expect that team to be a key part of future books. However, that was (excuse the pun), overkill.
I understand our hero is good and the Mossad is good, but let's end the fight in fewer pages.

Took me a little while to finish this one. Not because the story wasn't any good though. It's just this time of year!
The story is great, some little twists as turns and some of those were expected.
The finishing section was jut amazing! Tom Wood does write pretty good action scenes. The previous book had an amazing battle and this book up's the ante!
I'm going to order book 3 now!!
