I just do not see what all the raves are for. Gabriel Allon really did not do anything in this book. He even admitted himself at the end. The author never really show how skilled Gabriel is as an assassin. Oh, plenty of talk about past missions but not the current mission. I am a fan of Victor in

I have had this book on my shelf for some time now and decided to see for myself if Daniel Silva's Israeli assassin, Gabriel Allon, was as good as I have heard. I can honestly say that Gabriel did not fit into my image of an assassin.
