What Members Thought

Tess has once again written a compelling mystery and woven all the threads in a beautiful tale. I felt Rat (who we met in the previous book, ICE COLD) played an important role in this story.
My favorite Rizzoli & Isles novel is The Keepsake (book 7 in the series); my second favorite in the series is ICE COLD (book 8). I think The Silent Girl ties with Vanish (book 5) as my 3rd favorite :-) Body Double is a good one too... Oh Hell, they are all so damn good because TESS GERRITSEN is AMAZING!!!!

A woman's body found on a rooftop with her hand severed begins an investigation into a supposed murder/suicide in Chinatown 19 years earlier. The investigation turns very complex - involving missing girls and a Chinese legendary Monkey King. Very rich and complex story with clues that slowly all come together as events unfold. Very satisfying

Gerritsen is a little over the top with this one. I enjoyed it, but prefer what I feel is her forte; more believable medical/cop thriller. The Silent Girl enters the realm of fantasy more than I care for.

I love the Rizzoli and Isles series and I was thrilled to get to meet Tess Geritsen at a book signing for this book. While I liked this book something was missing for me. There wasn't a lot of suspence for me. No edge of my seat unable to put the book down. I like the story, I love the Monkey King, and I liked the setting, but it was so different from the other stories in this series that it just didn't satisfy me. There was little of Maura in this story and I think I missed the friendship eleme

Tess Gerritsen continues to thrill readers with her latest addition to the Rizzoli and Isles series. Jane Rizzoli is her usual risk-taking, puzzle-solving wonder with this puzzle containing elements of the ancient Chinese legend known as the Monkey King. As usual, a maze of connections must be made, this time between a murdered professional hit woman, a Chinese martial arts woman, cold cases of missing teen girls, and a 19-year-old restaurant murder scene. As Jane peels back the layers, she plac

This was had many layers of complexity that I have no idea where Tess Gerritsen even began! I could tell that it was well-researched and also very personal for her. The story became odder and odder as I turned the pages but as I reached the end; everything fell into place. For a moment there I thought that she had included a supernatural element to her story but she always offers an explanation at the end. I loved the change of scenery, the new characters and the Chinese background as the centra

One of Gerritsen's best. I loved finding out about Boston's Chinatown. Rizzoli and Isles are my favorite characters.
