Veronika had everything what young woman wanted from life, but there was something missing and that feeling finally draw her to the suicide.It was at the first sigh illogical thing, but when author leads us deeper it made sense. She however was unsuccessful and her suicide attempt led her to the asylum. Author liked so called exotic places and Ljubljana gave him such setting for the reader of his home land and it made a perfect background for the troubled inmates of the asylum. Simple trick made

There are the times when you simply can not go on and that was what happened to Veronika. She decided one day to die despite everything and everybody. She failed in her attempt and was triggered to the most intriguing existential journey of her life in Asylum, she was put in. She met doctors, nurses and other patients only to be tricked to crave for life again in danger of imminent death. I liked this book so much and I am re-reading it from time to time.
Nggak sekeren novel Coelho lain yang pernah aku baca. Idenya sih menarik, tentang manusia yang baru menyadari klo hidup itu berharga saat divonis mau mati.
