Prior to "Twilight", I hated vampires and books with female protagonists. All of this changed after I read this wonderful, beautiful novel. Meyer creates a most unique and original kind of vampires and writes aboul old-fashioned love and tenderness in time in which blood, guts and macho female characters seem to be the norm. Kudos for Mrs. Meyer, she touched my heart. ...more
