Вълнуваща история, но всъщност харесах структурирането на теста повече от повествователните нишки. Любопитни ми бяха функциите на езика и струва ми се, "Богът на дребните неща" е един добре подреден хаос, в който езикът обещава, подмамва, крие повече, отколкото разказва, натъжава, обезсърчава, лепи счупени частици и събира съдби и варианти.

A book so beautiful, have i never read in my life. The way the author explores the culture of Kerala, the characters and their light and dark shades, the plight of common man in a 90's india strangled with racism, male chauvinism, misogyny and child molestations it is certainly beyond mesmerizing. The heart touching metaphors and imageries are placed strategically in the right places. Second read review:
The prose is Moving.
Masterful.
Until what? How could it be otherwise?
A bit much.
It would be unfair to say Pretentious. It was an Honest Attempt.
Estha and Rahel are nothing if not Sincere and Roy should be read likewise.
I appreciated this a lot more 11 years later - appreciated everything more, the plot, the characters, the context, just how young and lacking control over their lives each character was as their downfall began. But I'm not kidding that the editorial inserts got ...more
