I won a copy of this story and although it was set as a science fiction novel, to me it had more of an ancient feel, like an epic Chinese saga (which I liked). For except for the 'modern data', much of the language was more suited to that older genre. That's no bad thing, however, it felt a little at odds with itself at times.
