I love the ranger's apprentice series. But for the last few books I haven't really been feeling it, where the plot was going.

This goes back in time in comparison to the last two books by being in the time period when Will is still an apprentice. I thought that this bridged the gap nicely and I am ready for the next one in the series.

The characters are much the same as they have been before, and it seems that all the actions are kind of shallow. But Will goes through some really trying times. T ...more

Awesome, awesome, awesome, aaaaaaawesoooooooooome. Flanagan had a great idea of going back in time to write this . . . although I guess it'll sorta be a problem since book six does not have a single mention that Halt and Pauline are married (well, not that it would - he didn't prob. have the idea for book seven 'til much later - a' DUH, raven) - and he can't really undo that now. Ah, well.

Great book! It was an amazing feeling to get to read about Will's youth again... Because honestly I prefer the adventures when he's an apprentiece. This book made me unable to focus on anything else for days!!! Fantastic! ...more
