I would have preferred to read this book rather than listen to it as an audiobook, but then I realized that it was never getting to the top of my pile of books that I would like to read. While this book is well-written, it simply did not hit as hard as when I read 1984 and Brave New World (probably my favorite). He had some excellent points to make particularly in the afterword though it does come through in the book as well regarding how censorship starts and for that reason I would recommend i ...more

Just like Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale and Orwell's 1984, this book gives a rather bleak forecast of the future. Considering the time it was written (1953) it is frightening there are quite a few accurate predictions. I wouldn't say it is a pleasure to read, but it certainly gives you food for thought. ...more
