I'm no fan of aliens in a fantasy novel, though I do like to read about them in Science Fiction novels. You could argue that "A wrinkle in time" was partly a Science fiction novel but for me there were too many things missing for that. Science played such a very small part in this novel.

My daughter actually picked this for us to read together. It has taken us close to a year to finish but is the first book that we have managed to finish before my daughter lost interest. I'm not sure if it was because SHE got to pick the book or because she had managed to find a book that she had read but I had not read yet.

This is a composite rating. I read the book to my sons (12 to), and they really seemed to enjoy it. I probably would have gone 3 stars myself, but then I'm not really the target audience.
