Well, of course I have seen many aversion of this played every year at Christmas time, nothing ever compares to the book. The book is rich in detail of the sights and sounds of the time period. If you've never read the actual story you need to. The book is a delight to read, very wonderful, timeless story, maybe I will read it around this time every year. It wouldn't be a bad tradition. I really enjoyed this and thank my group for choosing it as one of our reads for this month. A great read.

Reread/listened to for the holiday. Jim Dale does an excellent job with the audiobook performance.
