I like this a lot better than 'Wuthering Heights'. The many great conversations between Jane and Rochester are the obvious highlights.

I may have loved this even more re-reading it as an adult than I did as a kid.
Back then, I totally identified with Jane Eyre the 10-yr.-old orphan. Oh, how I sympathized with her being so unfairly punished, and how I hated that school (institution!) she was sent to only to suffer more cruelty. I was glad the author skipped over the bits about spending the next six years of her life there, and relieved when she gets a position elsewhere as a governess (so quaint!).
