What Members Thought
First off just let me say I’m not the biggest fan of Alice in Wonderland, although I think when I was a kid someone (my sister, maybe?) read it to me and I liked it. But all the drug references and stuff that supposedly make it so fascinating to adults are just not that interesting to me. For starters, all the growing and shrinking becomes rather irksome after a while and they should find some other thing to do to her besides making her huge, then tiny, then huge, then (you guessed it) tiny. 2 stars. I really didn't like this book. Alice annoyed me, to be honest. May be I should have read it when I was a child. I also remember having read an abridged version of this book during elimentary school. I did like it then. But reading this well-loved classic now, I couldn't empathise and connect with Alice's character. I was rolling my eyes at her when I was halfway through the book. The conversions and situations felt totally bizarre. Definitely not the best classic/children's book I have
