So many people love this story, but it didn't really appeal to me. Their decisions seemed so foolish, which I know O. Henry points out, but that didn't mean that I wasn't sitting there thinking that buying a gift to show love is silly. Love is the most important thing and it is not proved by material gifts. ...more
