What a sweet little book! I'm pretty sure that I read this book years ago as a young girl, but I am sure that it did not mean as much to me then as it does to me now. This is a tiny little book takes little time to finish, but the brilliance of the simple writing style is that it got me to stop and ponder more deeply the lessons it shared through the story. Although missing the original dust jacket, I have discovered that the copy of the book I picked up for $1 at a local shop last week, is in fact, a first edition of the book from 1943. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long in my life to actually read this book; although I’ve seen various versions of movies and cartoons based on the book, the book itself is a genuine treasure. I didn't know what to think at first, but when I got to the end, it all started to make sense. In our lives, we each have an object that we have "tamed". Just like the Little Prince, it is hard to see why others find things a "matter of consequence", but we must see with our heart. Everyone is so different and it is those differences that make everything so special.
