If you are ever thinking how great it would be to go back in time and relive high school, this book might just convince you that it wasn't as fun as you remember. Talk about gossip, drama, back-stabbing, kicking when you are down or just looking away as your "friend" is just glad it isn't them being abused type situations.

With a nostalgia that lends itself to The Breakfast Club, the novel One Of Us Is Lying opens with a detention starring familiar stereotypes:

- Bronwyn Rojas is the typical brain who is involved in everything from student government to prom committee.
- Cooper Clay is the jock with college and pro baseball scouts hot on his trail that everyone, from students to teachers to parents, love. He is the all-American boy-next-door.

I was expecting more, based on the other reviews. And it took me longer to finish than I would have liked. I was just plain whelmed.

This was a pretty good read that sucked me in rather quickly. I had to force myself to put it down and go to bed.

2.5 stars?? I don't know how I am feeling about this right now.

This book starts off with a bunch of kids in detention and things escalate quickly from there with a pretty traumatizing death. Simon was the school gossip who loved getting dirt on people and without dropping names but giving enough detail that you KNEW who it was about on his blog.
