Amazonia is the perfect cross between a high action horror-thriller and a smooth science fiction adventure tale. Yes, all those things. A creature feature mixed with Michael Crichtonmixed with Outbreak set in an Indiana Jones/Alan Quartermaine world.

Of course this isn't Literature with a capital L; it isn't meant to be. So, what is it? Is it far fetched? Yes. Is it melodramatic? Yep. But it also delivers in the key area for any mass market work of popular fiction - it entertains, and it does it in spades. There were times when I thought I would have to be revived via defibrillation from the insane amount of action in this novel. And that's all I could ask for. Was I thoroughly entertained? Yes. A+
