The evidence from this book suggests that we need externally imposed restrictions on our daily lives in order to save us from ourselves. In a number of examples provided in this book, we need external forces to impose deadlines, to force us to save money, and to keep us from procrastinating. In other words we aren't the best at looking out for our own best interests.

This little gem was a little verbose, and no territory for academics, but one of the most interesting and entertaining popular behavioral economics books I’ve red. I was completely embarrassed, in the best way, at having all of my weaknesses pointed out to me. This book combined with the practical application advice in Nudge (by Thaler/Sunstein), could be very useful for public policy makers.
