It was hard for me to get started on it. The first 4 chapters didn't really wow me. Then I got into it... and man! Great book. Not the best ever, but darn good. I look forward to comparing it to the movie.

I'm not a comic book reader by default, but this graphic novel speaks volumes on a humanist level. By successfully threading elements of fear and loneliness with a story about looming nuclear war and necessary sacrifices in the name of peace, Alan Moore weaves a masterpiece. The artistic talent of Dave Gibbons and the use of secondary colors sets The Watchmen apart from any of its peers.
