I love this series, 4 1/2 stars, this 2nd book is better then the first the characters get more interesting and the new character's introduced are equally interesting and somewhat mysterious looking at you Fritz. I'm off to read volume three right now.

Notes:

I've become a fan of Roger Wayne's narration! He does a great job and makes the story come to life in my ears. =)

- Really cool twists & fun takes on well tried fantasy adventures.
- The characters came together & were much more approachable, relatable & alive in this book.

This is a solid three to three point five stars. I enjoy this series, and I'll keep reading it, but it's not one I would rave about at a dinner party or to strangers on the bus. Like a crazy woman.

The NPCs are good, solid characters, and I enjoy their adventures. Hayes constructs a solid, engaging story and delivers a satisfying ending. Which is all a girl really needs in her escapist literature.

Great! The NPCs return with another big adventure. This is the second book in the series. The NPCs visit a town that has been affected by a deadly plague caused by an evil artifact. Good DnD RPG-like fights with spells and melee. I will continue this very entertaining series. Audible version with great narration by Roger Wayne.

Never split the party

Fun series with the notion of NPCs becoming adventurers and bringing forward their actions. There are some player characters, but their action is mostly on the side of the story - likely to be a part of a series-long arc. But I don’t know if that aspect adds much to the main story.

Another enjoyable read. I think I'm going to end up reading all of Mr. Hayes' books before moving onto something else. Glad this looks like it will become a full on series.

Enjoyable episodic series. But not particularly amazing. Good to listen to if you want something low stakes.
