Absolbloody brillant. Wow, I enjoy Jim Butchers Dresden File series but this series blows it out of the water. I have read two in a row and will continue to read until the end. This is an EPIC series.
Read now if you like fantasy.

That depends upon your inclination to hang out with the great-great grandchildren of the fantasy novels by JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis. Harry is a kick-ass Gandalf in our almost real world; Tavi lives in a realm of high fantasy where the denizens would be as confused as Gandalf about indoor plumbing.

I read Codex Alera #1, Furies of Calderon, by Jim Butcher and really liked it.

This is not a romance novel, it's epic fantasy.

There's magic, and epic battle scenes, and mysterious magic beings and really well drawn characters.

I had to know what happened next. It kept me on the edge of my seat.

Excellent start to a series. Now I have to track down the rest. ...more
