10 stars for fantastic characters, wonderful writing. The badly scarred H needs a wife and one falls into his lap. She's one of the best heroines ever, but perhaps rather current day in her words and actions? He's arrogant and somehow she immediately understands the hurt in him. She's a good person and helps him believe in himself. The love scenes are sweetly steamy, the dialogue is sharp but never mean, and the cat just adds that extra dash of fun. I saw some mixed reviews for this book so I wasn't really sure what I was in for. I really liked The Duchess Deal. I thought it was great from beginning to end and it held my attention the entire time.
One of my favorite things in this book was all of the pet names that Emma called Ash. I also really enjoyed watching their relationship develop as well as seeing them each grow and work through some emotional issues that were holding them back.

This book was so much fun! Beauty and the Beast theme that even included the meddlesome servants trying to get the couple together. And it was awesome! I laughed out loud and reread several scenes just to laugh again.
