I am not usually a big Sci Fi reader - but this one is definitely worth a read. Translated from Chinese it is a fascinating look back at the history of China and the world and a look forward into an imagined future - one that involves intricate computer games that immerse players

I discovered this book on a random bookstore wander, and put it on my list. As a result, I probably haven't read as much about it as many new readers will have, and had no idea was to expect.

I honestly was a little disappointed, but this was probably because the hype was hard to live up to. I did find the story a little bit uneven, and there were one or two un-followed story arcs which bothered me. Also, did you know it is a trilogy? humph.
