Popsugar 2019 Reading Challenge: A book by two female authors
This turned out to be a really enjoyable book! I liked the protagonists a lot, particularly Hazel, who has a kind of contemporary Holly Golightly feel. Her quirkiness, while extreme, felt realistic, and I thought of all those times when I'd be watching a movie or reading a book and wish that the story would be centered on the eccentric best friend character rather than the bland heroine. I fell instantly in love with Hazel and Josh. I devoured the first part of the book. I was SURE that this would be my favorite Christina Lauren to date BUT. But. Hazel and Josh were so open with each other about EVERYTHING (I mean, I'm pretty sure Hazel is incapable of being anything but super open and honest about everything whether she should be or not), everything except how they felt about each other and that was SUPER frustrating and seemed out of character. Exactly the right book to read last night instead of making myself crazy refreshing the election results. Fluffy and happy.

This was really cute, tho with all of the 'we promise we're not dating!' books, there comes a point where you're like *stares at camera a la The Office*.

I do think there could have been one more narrative twist (it occurred to me right after reading the book), but this was a sweet read with two lovable characters. It was like, two different flavors of cinnamon roll served on the same plate.
