My Thoughts:
This book really pulled me in from the beginning. The characters were interesting and I liked that I didn’t know where the story was going. It really surprised and delighted. I was intrigued and a little freaked out (in a Carrie by Stephen Kind sort of way), until about 80%. Then I found that the book fizzled for me. It was as if the result wasn’t worth the mystery? A prolific author, of this I have no doubt.
The author is brilliant with writing descriptive prose and making the world he creates come to horrifying life. Onto world building then naturally. Brilliant. No telling of scenes but tons of showing through truly brilliant writing. This part of the book is truly worth 5*.
Character building
A 4* read. The world they inhabited was far more intriguing than the actual characters whom at times came accross as being actively tryig to alienate the reader.
