This is one one of the most interesting books I have ever read. I literally stayed up all night reading this. The book had me hooked from the beginning by which I mean from the blurb. The concept of Caraval was extremely hyped and this booked lived up to all my hopes and expectations. The story was extremely captivating and keeps you at the edge of your seat.
The mystery and the constant suspicion left me theorizing so much.The ending of this book fascinated me to no bounds.

Tenía mil ganas de leer Caraval, porque todo mundo estaba comentando sobre el y la mayoría estaba amando el libro, así que tenia altas expectativas y, precisamente por eso, también tenía un poco de miedo, ya que lo mismo me paso con Nunca digas siempre (y vaya decepción termino siendo). Tenía mil ganas de leer Caraval, porque todo mundo estaba comentando sobre el y la mayoría estaba amando el libro, así que tenia altas expectativas y, precisamente por eso, también tenía un poco de miedo, ya que lo mismo me paso con Nunca digas siempre (y vaya decepción termino siendo). Sin embargo no tenía de que preocuparme; Caraval es todo lo que promete y mucho más y, al mismo tiempo, no ha sido para nada lo que me esperaba, este es un libro cautivador y te atrapa desde el primer minuto.

El principio es algo lento, pero fue justo con el inicio del juego, en la llegada a Caraval, cuando empecé a engancharme totalmente porque el mundo que ha creado la autora es una maravilla. La historia esta entre la realidad y la fantasía de una manera que atrapa, es muy adictiva con su mezcla de magia, aventura, drama, amor, venganza y supervivencia con un aura de misterio en casi toda la trama y la idea de que en Caraval puede pasar cualquier cosa, hace que sea muy difícil despejarse de la historia, ya que quería saber que pasaría después, y justamente eso fue lo que más me gustó.

Realmente me ha encantado la forma en que se desarrolla la historia porque en lugar de tener respuestas tienes más y muchas más preguntas, siempre te está haciendo pensar que algo es real y luego lo cambia y luego vuelve a cambiar nuevamente, hasta que te encuentras envuelta en un mundo oscuro y fantástico donde nada es lo que parece y es OMG!, llego el momento en que yo no solo era una espectadora también era una de los jugadores, como si fuese Scarlett, porque no sabía qué era real y qué era una actuación. ¡Realmente tiene un gran uso de los elementos del misterio!.

Caraval me hizo sentir tantas cosas en tan poco tiempo, estaba feliz, triste, asustada, ¡y frustrada en algunas ocasiones! Fue una lectura increíble, una de las mejores del año.

Los personajes todos están tan bien escritos, y la ambientación es incluso mejor, la descripción del mundo es encantador, mágico y hermoso, realmente me ha atrapado. Los últimos capítulos han sido lo mejor, me han mantenido en tensión todo el tiempo, otorgándole un final digno y a la altura de la historia mágica de Caraval. Simplemente morí y reviví con la ultima pagina. La autora ha cerrado muy bien este primer libro de la bilogía dejándonos con ganas de más, así que me muero por leer la secuela y seguramente volveré a leer este libro antes de tener la continuación.

P.D.3. No puedo hablar más de la historia porque sera mejor ir a ciegas en esta historia, es mucho mejor.

I was really looking forward to reading this book as it would be the first book that I would read about carnivals and even more so because a big portion of this book was centered around sisterhood. Now I have to say that it didnt quite start the way I expected it to (not thats im sure what I had in mind) and from the beginning I felt like Scarlett was a little... how do I say this, unadventurous? Not much fun? And a little too protective of her sister? But thankfully she changed and grew as she I was really looking forward to reading this book as it would be the first book that I would read about carnivals and even more so because a big portion of this book was centered around sisterhood. Not much fun? And a little too protective of her sister? But thankfully she changed and grew as she went to Caraval and went through all difficulties she was not supposed to have.

I did enjoy most of the book and I felt quite entertained reading about how Scarlett was trying to unravel the mystery about this year's Caraval and the disappearance of her sister. I was a fan of Julian, and I liked him till the end but... im not obsessed with him like i am with..lets say DORIAN😍. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about her sister, Donatella. I did not like her sister at all, I felt like she just thought about herself, she just wanted to get off the isle and away from their father and I felt like she never really considered what Scarlett might really feel about it and that bugged me. I do completely understand tho that she was trying to save her sister because maybe she didnt know better? And maybe she thought an arranged marriage could save them both? But still I really thought that she didnt really understand that Scarlett was different from her, honestly idk.

Lets talk about the ending now.😐 I DID NOT LIKE HOW IT ALL TURNED OUT. I haaaated how Donatella was involved and Julian and even Dante, I just hated it. After all these twists and horrors and for God's sake the DEATHS that Scarlett had to witness it all turned out to be planned and BY WHO? I just couldn't take it. I was also very very frustrated about how whenever something about the game or about someone was revealed it turns out that this 'reveal of truth' was fake and that whenever we thought that this was the actual reality and a certain person was actually that person it really wouldn't be them....😑 And oh God, that part/chapter when Donatella uncovers it all and in reality the Caraval turns out to be- in some twisted way- all planned to FREAKING PROTECT SCARLETT???!!! Idk idk idk. I dont know if im the only one who felt and thought all this but I was seriously annoyed-like hella annoyed- with the truth...and her sister. *sigh* if I was in Scarlett's place honestly I wouldnt have let my sister off the hook so easily, even if I loved her with the depth pf my heart, after everything she made me go through on purpose to 'protect me' 😒

All in all, it was a good book but definitely not one that i adored. Im not even sure I would strongly recommend it to alot of people but I did enjoy the new concept (carnivals) and I am not done reading about this type of thing yet. Im also quite sad that I didnt love this book but I guess it was just not meant for me, but perhaps the next one would be😈💃🏻🎠 ...more

I'm just soooo in love with the character's development in here. They're just amazing and perfect. The dynamic between characters always left me breathless. It's beautiful. The magic in here is beautiful.
