Dnf at 30%. This book has a fun idea and some great world-building--a magical private investigator hired to solve the mystery of a young man who died in the throes of a forbidden ritual, taking place in a fantastical version of ancient Rome--but sadly, I just couldn't get into it. The pacing was so slow I literally kept falling asleep (which is probably not entirely the book's fault, as I have health issues that cause undue fatigue, but still), and so I decided to put this one aside and move ont ...more

This was an interesting mystery for me! The world for Egretia was very good and detailed in this book. I enjoyed trying to guess the ending. A little magic in any book is a great find for me when I least expect it!. This book was another fun one to read. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
