The second in the series, I actually liked this one better than the first. Since many of the main characters are familiar from the first book, the story gets going much quicker. The story unfolds faster, and the action starts earlier as well. This book is definitely another intrigue-murder-mystery book like 'The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo' - but also very different. It may have taken me over a year off and on to finish this book, but finish it I did. Much like with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, it took me a bit of time to really sink my teeth into the book. Unlike the first book, it felt like the story began to take off much quicker than the previous book, but I can see now how some of the things from the first book were necessary and setting up for many of the things that occurred in this book.

I really enjoyed the second in Larsson's series about Salander and Blomkvist. Larsson can get a bit wordy and over descriptive at times but this is still a fantastic read. I had a hard time putting the book down to go about my daily life and ended up staying up late into the evening two nights to get through it. The Swedish background in this story is interesting and different and allows the imagination to roam free in a whole new setting from most of the thrillers available now.
