As a dog owner this is a book I tried to avoid because we know from the beginning the story will not have a happy ever after ending for lovable Enzo - or will it? I understand a published report indicates dogs really are capable of love to their human, this story certainly gives you hope that is true.

Luckily it is Enzo (the dog) and not Denny narrating the book. Though, to be fair, Denny is the stoic type and not a

listening to this one on audio - good audio/good story. maybe i'm a bit generous with the five stars, but i have a soft spot for a lovable/wise dog as the narrator, and the story really was pretty good. :)

It wasn't completely wretched, but, wow, it wasn't good either. It's just one of those books that has a hook (dog narrator) and little else.
