Behold, the Power of Duct Tape
This is not a perfect book, but it is an enjoyable one. There is humor and fear and courage and suspense. The science is the star here. The dialog comes across stilted, and not just mission control stilted. That stuff sounds right, it's the ordinary conversations that don't flow. But that's cool. That's not the story. It's been very long time since I've read a pure Sci-Fi story that I've enjoyed this much. The author's use of conversational blog style to record the main character's thoughts makes the story immediately approachable and fun.

This is a really great book: exciting, entertaining, well-planned and researched. However, with 77,443 other five-star reviews, I feel no inclination to write another one just to repeat what they already said. I loved it and would recommend you read it.

3.5 to a 4, but I'm going to say a 4. I really enjoyed this one. It wasn't what I expected and I didn't always like the main character but I loved the storyline and the suspense.
