The Hotel Denouement provides an unfortunately appropriate setting for some of the most unfortunate events of the series.

The penultimate book in this wonderful series is dreadful, as the author promises, but only because it means only one unfortunate book remains. The unfathomable mysteries of The Hotel Denouement slowly unravel in this book as the Baudelaires find themselves once again surrounded by too many villains and not enough volunteers.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to obtain The End.

This is a cute, funny, and enjoyable series. The Baudelaire children and Count Olaf are always in conflict, no matter where they go. The way Lemony Snicket writes is ingenious. By telling you stop reading... and other things along those lines it is even more likable.
