The ‘Drowning Pool’, has been the site of many deaths. Nell Abbott lived in the Mill House by the river her entire life and was compiling a history of the ‘troublesome’ women who died there; stories of witchcraft, suicide, and murder. Nell is the latest victim to die, following the suicide of her 15 year old daughters’ best friend Katie. Hawkins, in my opinion, tells a first –rate, suspense story.
