Andrew's Brain, by E.L. Doctorow
This is a short novel, but it is not an easy read. The protagonist Andrew is a cognitive scientist and an unreliable narrator. The book has a quiet, sad, sly humor and I don't pretend to even know how to rate this novel. It's Doctorow, so it should probably be a five star review, because he can write circles around everyone, but I don't have a clue as to how to describe this book.
