Wow! That was a ride! The way all the twists happened made my head spin. Some scenes were so heartwrenching and I felt so bad with all Jenna has gone through. Other parts I felt like screaming at her to wake up and run! I won't go into details, as I went in not really knowing much about this book, and I'm glad I did. The writing kept me gripped throughout the entire book. The characters had me either liking them, and rooting for them, or utterly despising them. Such a good book! ...more

This is the best "nail biting" thriller that I have read in 2016. ...more

Whatever you do, don't read this book on public transport! Your're liable to miss your stop and ride to the end of the line, way out of nowhere.. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, this brilliant thriller.
I enjoy Clare Mackintosh's books tremendously, but this one is by far the best of those I've read. A tale that twists and turns, with several narrators each seeing a different side of he story. A portrait of a psychopath, an abusive husband and a woman trying desperately to feree herslef fr

I didn’t really care for this story. There were definitely intense emotions and moments. The grief and the pain Jenna felt, felt real to me. I didn’t care to read about the police work, or care to read from Ian’s point of view. I only enjoyed Jenna’s parts. Part 1 was the best section of the book. The details of the village, the ocean, the tides, her photography work, the small town feel... were great.
Part 2, I just didn’t care for.

Amazing. I wasn't sure at the beginning. I kept thinking "this is suppose to be a thriller, this isn't a thriller" and then BAM.....it's a thriller! A very good thriller! At about 45% of the way through, I couldn't put the book down. Will definitely be checking out other works by this author. ...more
