Oh Eleanor Oliphant!!! I wish that I could give you the biggest, longest hug ever... As a Mental Health Nurse, this book hit home as I work with patients who are not as funny as Eleanor lol, but deal with some of the same issues. "LONELINESS" being at the top of the list. First of all, the narrator for this was superb! The way she incorporates so much characteristics in the characters of this novel was so defining and wonderful. Really enjoyed that!
As for the story, I did not dislike it, by any means. 4 stars rather than 5 for the slow(er) start and lack of "action" throughout, but I quite enjoyed the slower pacing and wasn't turned off by it. Overall, it's a great, quick character-driven novel that will warm your ...more
