What Members Thought

The beginning was a bit... uninteresting. I liked the ending, but I thought that the chapters in the middle were not relevant enough for the outcome that comes after that. I mean, I think there was a lot of useless information, so to say. The book was not as good as I thought it would be, and I didn't love Eleanor as much as many other readers did.

While the book is extremely readable and draws the reader in, the main character is very implausible. I did not get the sense that she is on the spectrum as some people have suggested. She is so naive and unaware of the world for one who had the experiences she had. Maybe it was an extreme form of self-protection, but I still found it hard to believe that a woman who went to university, lived alone in a city, and had a job was so clueless about life.

The novel got better in each chapter and I loved especially the second half of the book.
It has witty moments but it is a bittersweet story about a woman who claims to be fine but actually in desperate need of being loved.
The writing is very clear and easy to follow but the plot is not anyway simple and cleverly formulated.
