What Members Thought

If you have never seen the Showtime TV series based upon this and the following 4 books Lindsey has written thus far, you will probably enjoy this debut in the Dexter series. I saw the TV show first, and therefore didn't enjoy the book as much. My first problem was that I kept comparing all the details between the two - picturing the actors and scenery in my head that existed so conveniently from TV (Six Feet Under's Michael C. Hall is phenomenal again per usual). My second problem was that the

I gave this book a three star rating, not because I thought it was bad (I really enjoyed it), but because it was just a fun book to read.
The premise of a serial killer killing serial killers to "do good" is an interesting way to keep readers interested in a murder mystery novel. I have never watched the show, but now I plan to. I like to see how the stories in TV or movies follow the books, and most of the time I take the side that the books are just better.

Having watched the tv show prior to reading this, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had heard they were similar to a point, but that the stories are more varied in the show. I have to say I quite enjoyed this book and am already half-way into the second book. Lindsay's wit translates well to the screen and the first-person narration works extremely well with the subject matter. I am impressed that despite the changes in the from book to screen it is much more recognizable than Reich's Temperance B

bagus buat penggemar cerita detektif ++
kesian banget ternyata si Dexter ini.. udah gitu ternyata dy punya kakak lagi, sama sarapn ...more

@ first I was not entirely sure how I felt about this book but I have decided that it was really good...I had some issues @ first because I had watched season 1 of the show beforehand. I was told that the books were not the same as the show but as I read it I felt it was very similar. It was different near the end however...The show added more details and links (most likely for entertainment purposes and because they are hr episodes.) Anyway, I would definately recommend this book...especially i

I wanted to read the book before I started the show and I was quickly hooked, what a disturbingly brilliant idea for a book. Dexter has quickly become one of my favorite characters despite the fact that he's a complete psychopath. I'm glad I read the books first because the show does veer from them quite a bit.

The book that started the tv series. I haven't seen the show, so I can't compare the 2, but the book was good, and I will read more of the series. Dexter is an interesting guy...
