Shelves: fiction

5th Movie Book Club book. Initially, this didn't sound like the sort of book I would pick up, but I enjoyed reading it. Seeing how the death of Susie plays out in the relationships of her friends and family is heartwrenching and interesting. Though the central story of this book is death, it surprisingly isn't totally depressing! ...more

I had to give it 4 stars because it's just so darn sad. I cried all the way through and it's very hard to read when my eyes are filled with tears! I persevered and at least feel closure with the book, but I'm not sure I am a fan of the way Alice Sebold ended the story.... ...more
